Recovery is a journey that requires a different pace at different times. At Trinity Wellness Group, we offer full-day and half-day outpatient treatment programs for addiction and mental health, so you can choose the structure that best suits where you are right now.
There are different levels of care involved in recovery. As you heal, you move through these levels, with each one aligning with your progress and your needs.
‘Stepping down’ refers to when you transition from a higher level of care to a lower level of care. The quality of the care does not change between levels, but the contact hours and your independence does.
Finishing our full-day treatment program and starting our half-day treatment program can be considered stepping down. Both programs include evidence-based therapies, medication management, and wellness activities, but the time commitment is different.
We offer two types of outpatient programs: full day treatment and half day treatment. With both programs, you attend sessions at our center in Braintree, MA and return home in the evening.
Our full day treatment program runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Care includes individual therapy, group therapy, skills-building, and wellness activities such as yoga.
Full day treatment is suited to anyone who is stable enough to live at home, but is still in the early stages of recovery. It’s a significant time commitment and often requires taking time off work.
Our half day treatment program runs Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 12 PM. It’s suited to anyone who wants to step down from full day treatment, as well as people who need to balance work or school with treatment.
Care includes the same core approaches as in full-day treatment, with extra emphasis on building real-world life skills.
We have evening sessions available for anyone who can’t attend sessions during the day.
Our programs are designed to help anyone struggling with a substance use disorder. Treatment is designed around substances including:
Methamphetamine
Cocaine
Whether you join our full day treatment program or our half day treatment program, there are several benefits that complement the clinical care you receive.
Flexibility. You attend sessions and return home in the evening. You can maintain personal routines and keep a consistent sense of home and safety.
Keep support networks close. You stay connected to your family and friends, being able to seek help and motivation from them while you move through the outpatient program.
Foster independence. Being able to return home demonstrates that you’ve already progressed in your recovery and can practice self-care.
Apply learned skills. Because you go from sessions back to your daily life, you can transfer what you learn in care directly to your relationships and routines.
Continue working/studying. With the half-day treatment program, you have time to continue a job or educational program.
Our team of licensed physicians guide you through evidence-based therapies in our outpatient programs. We use individual and group therapy structures to help you learn skills, process trauma, and construct a more meaningful life.
Therapies include:
EMDR Therapy: Using bilateral stimulation (guided eye movements) we help you safely recall and address trauma that can drive addiction.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): We teach you to cope with distress, emotionally regulate, and develop skills to improve your relationships.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): You learn to challenge negative thoughts that surround addiction, and to recognize behaviors that are damaging to you and your community.
Group Therapy: You share experiences with peers who are also struggling with addiction, building communication and empathetic skills along the way.
Expressive Therapy: We offer creative, non-verbal activities to allow you to tell your story in new ways, and to release emotions through new channels.
We also provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) to manage withdrawal and lower the risk of relapse.
Stepping down is a sign that you’re moving forward in recovery. However, stepping down should not be the only goal in care. Whatever type of treatment you need, is what you should receive.
There’s no rush or judgment in recovery — just your reality and the ongoing possibility to heal.
We work with major commercial providers across Massachusetts. To verify your insurance plan and coverage, contact our admissions team now.
An outpatient program is when you receive high-quality treatment at a health center, but return home in the evening. Outpatient programs are best suited to people who have recently finished a residential program and are stepping down to the next level of care. Outpatient programs also suit people who have families, work, and study responsibilitites.
Stepping down means transitioning from a more intense level of care to a less intense level of care. The quality of care does not change between levels, however the number of contact hours do.
Finishing our full day outpatient program and starting our half day outpatient program is considered stepping down. Stepping down is a sign of moving forward in recovery.

I am a patient with Trinity Wellness for substance use disorder treatment, and I recommend them highly.
What stands out about Trinity Wellness is their genuine care about patients and their clear commitment to put patients, not profit, first. They offer the most flexible programs I have come across in their field, and they truly work to meet each patient where they are in life.
It’s too rare to find a place like this where truly good people are striving to just do good work for the people they serve, and doing so without compromise.
If you are looking for intensive outpatient or long term maintenance treatment for substance use disorder, I recommend you look to Trinity Wellness first.
(I am a real person using a pen name here for privacy given that I am not yet ready to share publicly my struggles with substance use disorder.)

Trynity Wellness has been my saving grace. They got me into a program in as little as 3 days after our first call. I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s literally saved my life. The people are there to support you for as long or as little as you need. The owners and instructors are so personal and chill! We’re all just helping eachother get through this crazy and scary world one day at a time. Thank you Trynity!
