It can be difficult to know when drinking has moved beyond control into a medical concern. Many people delay seeking help because alcohol use is often normalized socially, but early support can significantly improve safety, stability, and long-term recovery outcomes.
You or a loved one may benefit from alcohol addiction treatment if you notice:
You don’t have to wait for a crisis to take the next step. Alcohol use disorder is a treatable medical condition, and early intervention often leads to better outcomes.
Our admissions team provides confidential assessments, insurance verification, and guidance on appropriate levels of care—including detox coordination when needed and structured outpatient treatment options tailored to your situation.
Our day treatment programs provide structured, clinically guided support for alcohol addiction while still allowing space for work, family, and everyday responsibilities.
Full Day Treatment
Our full-day program runs Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM, and is designed for individuals who need a higher level of structure and support in early recovery. This format provides a consistent therapeutic environment throughout the day, including individual therapy, group work, and skills development to stabilize both physical and emotional health in recovery.
Half-Day Treatment
Our half-day program runs Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM. It offers a more flexible option for those who are still managing work, school, or family responsibilities while addressing alcohol addiction. It provides access to evidence-based therapy and peer support while allowing space to maintain daily routines and responsibilities outside of treatment.
Virtual Treatment
For ongoing support beyond in-person care, our virtual program offers continued counseling, case management, and connection to alumni networks. Virtual sessions are designed for aftercare, relapse prevention, and ongoing accountability, helping clients maintain progress from home while staying connected to a supportive recovery community.
Dual Diagnosis
We treat alcohol use disorder alongside co-occurring mental health concerns, recognizing how anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic stress often contribute to patterns of alcohol use. Recovery is approached through an integrated clinical model that focuses on both emotional health and substance use at the same time.
Our medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program for alcohol use disorder combines FDA-approved medications with evidence-based behavioral therapies to support both physical stabilization and long-term recovery. We utilize naltrexone (Vivitrol) to help reduce alcohol cravings, support abstinence, and interrupt the reward cycle associated with alcohol use.
Individual therapies such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) treat underlying mental health disorders and trauma that can drive alcohol addiction. These focus on reframing negative thoughts, processing trauma, building positive coping skills, and reducing the impact of emotional distress.
Daily group therapy sessions and peer support are grounded in the understanding that recovery from alcohol use is strengthened through connection and community. For many, alcohol use develops in isolation, and group therapy offers a structured space to break that pattern—helping individuals feel less alone in what they’re experiencing.
Expressive therapies such as art, yoga, and music provide additional support in alcohol recovery by offering healthy, non-verbal ways to process stress, emotions, and internal tension. For many individuals, these approaches help regulate the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and create a sense of purpose outside of alcohol use.
Our program includes structured family support sessions designed to help loved ones better understand alcohol abuse and how it impacts behavior, communication, and relationships. These sessions help families recognize early warning signs, set healthy boundaries, and learn how to support recovery in a way that does not unintentionally enable continued drinking.
Our staff and leadership are trained to recognize and reduce triggers, respect each client’s identity, and provide treatment with dignity. Using EMDR, we help clients safely process past trauma while building coping skills and emotional resilience to ensure that recovery from alcohol addiction happens in a supportive environment that honors each individual’s experiences.
Recovery doesn’t end at discharge. Our aftercare program offers ongoing support through virtual counseling, check-ins with case managers, and access to our alumni network. This continuous connection helps clients maintain progress, practice relapse prevention skills, and build a supportive community of peers who understand alcohol recovery.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is one of the most effective, evidence-based approaches for treating alcohol addiction, especially for individuals with moderate to severe dependence. It combines FDA-approved medications with therapy and structured clinical support to help reduce cravings, stabilize brain chemistry, and support safer long-term recovery.
For alcohol use disorder, MAT may include medications that help reduce the urge to drink, support abstinence, and lower the risk of relapse—particularly in the early stages of recovery when withdrawal symptoms and cravings can feel strongest.
We use FDA-approved medications for alcohol use disorder when clinically appropriate. These medications are designed to reduce cravings, interrupt the reward cycle associated with alcohol use, and support brain stabilization, without creating dependence or a euphoric effect.
Medication alone is not the solution. Clients participate in individual and group therapy with licensed clinicians to address the underlying drivers of alcohol use, including stress, trauma, anxiety, and behavioral patterns.
Recovery doesn’t stop at symptom management. Our team provides coordinated care that may include case management, psychiatric support, and connections to community resources that promote stability in daily life—such as housing, employment, and an ongoing recovery structure.
Every individual enters care with a different history and level of alcohol dependence. We conduct a thorough clinical assessment to design a treatment plan that reflects your needs, goals, and risk factors, so that care is precise, structured, and built for long-term success.
Our alcohol addiction treatment programs are designed for adults from all walks of life who need structured, evidence-based support while continuing to manage daily responsibilities.
We provide alcohol addiction treatment for individuals throughout Braintree, Quincy, Weymouth, Milton, Randolph, and the greater South Shore Boston area.
We accept most major commercial insurance plans and work directly with providers to verify benefits and determine what level of care is covered before admission. Our admissions process is designed to be transparent and straightforward, so individuals and families understand exactly what their financial responsibility may look like before starting treatment.

I am a patient with Trinity Wellness for substance use disorder treatment, and I recommend them highly.
What stands out about Trinity Wellness is their genuine care about patients and their clear commitment to put patients, not profit, first. They offer the most flexible programs I have come across in their field, and they truly work to meet each patient where they are in life.
It’s too rare to find a place like this where truly good people are striving to just do good work for the people they serve, and doing so without compromise.
If you are looking for intensive outpatient or long term maintenance treatment for substance use disorder, I recommend you look to Trinity Wellness first.

Yes. Trinity Wellness Group provides alcohol addiction treatment in Braintree, MA, through our structured day treatment programs. We treat alcohol use disorder alongside co-occurring mental health conditions, including anxiety and depression, which frequently accompany alcohol dependency. Treatment includes individual therapy, group therapy, DBT skills, MAT when appropriate, and aftercare planning.
You do not always need to complete detox before beginning treatment at Trinity Wellness, but you do need to be medically stable enough to participate safely in programming. Alcohol withdrawal can be serious and, in some cases, medically dangerous, so individuals who are physically dependent on alcohol are typically encouraged to complete a supervised detox first or receive medical clearance.
Although we do not provide on-site medical detox, our admissions team can help determine the safest level of care for your situation and connect you with trusted detox partners if needed. Once you are stabilized, we coordinate a smooth transition into our day treatment program so you can continue care without interruption.
Trinity Wellness offers medication-assisted treatment for alcohol use disorder, including naltrexone (Vivitrol), which reduces alcohol cravings and the rewarding effects of drinking. Medication is prescribed by our licensed medical director when clinically appropriate and is combined with therapy, not used as a standalone treatment.
Alcohol addiction treatment at Trinity Wellness includes individual therapy, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) skill groups for emotional regulation and relapse prevention, trauma-informed care for clients with co-occurring PTSD or trauma, EMDR for trauma processing, group therapy, case management, and aftercare planning.
Yes. Federal mental health parity laws require most commercial insurance plans to cover alcohol use disorder treatment comparably to medical conditions. Trinity Wellness accepts Aetna, Cigna, GEHA, Highmark, Kaiser, Magellan, Optum, and United Healthcare. We verify your benefits before you begin— call our admissions team for a same-day insurance check.
The length of treatment is determined by clinical progress, not by a fixed timeline. Most clients begin with full-day treatment (30–60 days) and step down to half-day or outpatient care. Ongoing MAT management continues beyond the structured program. Recovery from alcohol use disorder is a process; treatment length should reflect what you actually need, not a strict program timeline.
Yes. Trinity Wellness specializes in dual diagnosis treatment, addressing alcohol use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, and trauma simultaneously. Treating both conditions together yields significantly better outcomes than treating them separately, and our integrated model is specifically designed for this population.
We provide nonjudgmental, evidence-based care for alcohol addiction that respects your experience—meeting you at your current stage of use, recovery, or relapse, and supporting you with a plan that truly fits your life.
